Daily Gospel

A moment to pause, encounter Jesus through Scripture, and carry something of that encounter into your day.

Sunday 18 October 2026 — Saint Luke the Evangelist

THE GOSPEL

Open Luke 10:1–9 in the Bible Reader.

Take a moment to read today's Gospel passage slowly. There's no need to rush. Simply notice what is happening and allow the words to settle.

UNDERSTAND

Jesus sends his disciples ahead of him to bring peace, care for the sick and announce that God's kingdom has come near.

They are to go simply, trusting the task he has given them.

DISCOVER

Jesus invites ordinary people to share in his mission. He sends them out together, trusting them to carry his peace into the world.

His work is not something we have to do alone.

ENCOUNTER

Where might you offer a little of Jesus' peace today?

Optional Tarot Reflection:

Look at your card or cards. What catches your attention? Does anything resonate with the Gospel? There is no need to find a connection or an answer. Let the imagery prompt reflection, with Jesus and Scripture at the centre.

PRAYER

Let us bring this moment to Jesus in prayer.

Jesus,

help us carry your peace into the places we go today.

May our words and actions make room for your love.

Amen.

Walk a little more closely with Jesus today.
