I'm Govinda, the Pastor & Steward of Life in Jesus Ministry.
My faith is centred on a close, personal and continuing relationship with Jesus. Life in Jesus Ministry has grown from my own journey of faith, questioning, learning and returning again and again to Jesus as the centre.
For me, being a pastor means accompanying people: preparing carefully, teaching responsibly, listening well, offering pastoral care and helping create a community in which we can worship and encounter Jesus together.
Pastor & Steward
The word Steward matters to me too. I don't regard Life in Jesus Ministry as something I own. It is something entrusted to my care. My responsibility is to tend it faithfully and allow the community that grows around it to have a genuine life of its own.
I don't believe being a pastor means having every answer. Sometimes I will say, “I don't know.” Sometimes I will be wrestling with questions too. I believe there is room for that in Christian community.
I'm a fellow disciple and pilgrim too.
My invitation is not “I've arrived — follow me.”
