WHAT WE BELIEVE
At the heart of Life in Jesus Ministry is a simple faith:
Jesus is our centre.
We believe in one God — Father, Son and Holy Spirit — the source and giver of life.
We believe in Jesus Christ, God with us, who reveals the love and character of God. Through his life, teaching, death and resurrection, we encounter God's grace, forgiveness and invitation into new life.
We believe the Bible bears witness to God's relationship with humanity and leads us towards Jesus. We receive Scripture seriously, prayerfully and thoughtfully, allowing Jesus to remain our centre as we seek to understand and live it.
We believe prayer is relationship with God — speaking, listening, resting, questioning and making space for God's presence in ordinary life.
We believe following Jesus is something we live, expressed through love, mercy, justice, forgiveness, faithfulness and care for one another.
Everyone is welcome
We believe everyone is welcome in the life and community of Jesus. Life in Jesus Ministry welcomes people of every background, ethnicity, sexuality, gender, relationship status, ability and life story. We seek to see the person rather than the label, and nobody is asked to hide who they are in order to belong.
We believe faithful relationships should be recognised by their love, commitment, faithfulness, mutual care and respect — not by the genders of the people within them.
We believe Christian community should be a place where people can encounter Jesus without pretending to have everything figured out. Questions are welcome. People are welcome.
Above all, we believe the Christian life is not simply about believing things about Jesus.
